2343Chromium Tool Steel for High-Stress Applications
SITHERM 2343 is an exceptional tool steel known for its excellent toughness, hardness, and wear resistance, even under high temperatures. It is ideal for use in highly stressed structural parts such as aircraft landing gear, where it maintains ductility and toughness at strength levels around 275 ksi and resists softening up to 537°C. This steel is also perfect for hot forging tools for light metals, pressure die casting tools, and various dies, mandrels, punches, knives, and molds. Additionally, SITHERM 2343 can be water-cooled, enhancing its versatility in demanding environments.

Product advantages
H11 is one of the hot work, chromium type tool steels. It is relatively low in carbon content and has good toughness and deep hardnesss by air quench from heat treatment. It has a good combination of toughness, hardness and wear resistance in hot conditions. It is also resistant to softening and cracking.

Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1100-900°C.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 1000 - 1040°C followed by air, oil or warm bath quenching at 500 - 550°C. Hardness after quenching is 50 - 56 HRC.
