4028Versatile Free Machining Stainless Steel
SINOXX 4028 is ideally suited for a wide range of precision components and tools due to its excellent machinability and corrosion resistance when hardened and slightly tempered. This steel is perfect for manufacturing pump shafts, gears, pinions, cams, steel balls, and various hand tools. However, it is not recommended for use in high-pressure gas or liquid vessels, or in plastic moulds requiring high surface finishes.

Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 950 - 1050°C followed by oil or air quenching. Hardness after quenching is 52 - 58 HRC.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1100 - 800°C, slow cooling.
