ESR4 is already the fourth plant in the company SIJ Metal Ravne for the process of Electro Slag Remelting.

With an investment of EUR 6.8 million, SIJ Metal Ravne has acquired a new ESR4 Electro Slag Remelting plant that will enable a 60% increase in the production of high-quality ESR steels.

ESR steels are used by the most demanding sectors, such as:  power generation, oil and gas, as well as automotive and aviation industries.

New ESR enables greater production of very clean steels with improved metallurgical properties, in the form of ingots weighting up to 20 tons, thus further expanding sales and consolidating the position of SIJ Metal Ravne within the demanding niche markets for tool and special steels.

Last year SIJ Metal Ravne was awarded the ISO 9100 standard, thereby firmly placing itself as a supplier to the aviation industry.

ADVANTAGES OF STEEL MADE BY EPZ PROCESS:

• High-quality steel with homogeneous mechanical properties within large cross-sections,
• very high level of cleanliness,
• low anisotropy and
• free from macro-segregation.
