The Chamber of Commerce&Industry of Slovenia awarded the best innovators in Slovenia for the year 2011. The highest, golden award received innovators from Metal Ravne for the innovation »Artificial Intelligence and Laboratory Simulation of Deformation Process«. This innovation already produces excellent results at Metal Ravne as we managed to improve our yield in the production of products from OCR12VM. Here, we have to expose one more, yet very important aspect. Namely, we managed to join specialists from a very different background into successful team: from researchers at the Technical Faculty of Natural Science to researchers, technologists and other technical specialists at Metal Ravne. We proved that results from scientific research can be successfully transferred into production and sold, too. Metal's innovator group: M.Sc. Tatjana Večko Pirtovšek (running the project), M.Sc. Alojz Rozman, Jure Jamer and Alojz Buhvald with representatives from the Technical Faculty of Natural Science Ljubljana: Associate Prof. Ph.D. Milan Terčelj, Assistant Prof. Ph.D. Goran Kugler and Assistant Prof. Ph.D. Iztok Peruš. Our awarded group of innovators showed the direction for development of production process management from the aspect of intelligent production. There is still a long way ahead yet, which we have just started.
